Presenting ‘The patient perspective on hypoparathyroidism’ to the eECE2021

23rd May 2021

“The Patient’s Voice – Where Patient Experience meets Clinical Science.”

Watch the session here

This year European Society for Endocrinology (ESE) created an exciting new initiative to allow Patient Groups to be further engaged with the Congress, have their voice heard, and to interact with the Congress audience

Taking place on  Sunday 23 May The Patient’s Voice are 30-minute hub sessions which  focus on a specific topic identified by the Patient Groups. These hub sessions provide e-ECE 2021 delegates with a unique opportunity to access educational content, that connects the patients’ needs and views with the scientific and clinical view of an expert.

Parathyroid UK  presented a session on the Patient Perspective of Hypoparathyroidism. Liz Glenister was joined by our eminent medical advisors Professor Bill Fraser and Professor Jeremy Turner to explain the current situation as it impacts patients and to discuss management topics which  patients have identified as being problematic.

“The causes of death in 12 patients appeared to be unrelated to HP but we found a high prevalence of chronic organ damages/comorbidities related to it in this group. Less than 25% documented HP correctly in the discharge letters, which indicates a high potential for improvement.” twitter.com/sociedad…
